Dr. Israel Habibu Idris
University Librarian, D.D.S. Library, Taraba State University
Dr. Israel Habibu Idris is the first substantive Librarian of Taraba State University, Jalingo. He holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Maiduguri, and a Master's degree in Information Technology Management from the University of Wolverhampton, United Kingdom, where he graduated with distinction. He went on to earn a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Library and Information Science from Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Abia State.
He is a Certified Librarian of Nigeria (CLN) with the Librarians' Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN) and currently serves as Chairperson of the Nigerian Library Association, Taraba State Chapter. Before his appointment as University Librarian, he served as Chief Librarian at the Taraba State Polytechnic, Jalingo, in various capacities.
A media specialist and ICT expert, Dr. Idris has published widely in local and international journals, including books and book chapters. He is happily married with three children.
